The Louisa White Award recognizes nurses who demonstrate creativity, promote and support change, actively participate in community and professional activities, promote and utilize nursing research, serve as consumer advocates, and pursue professional development.
The Chapter Service Award was created to honor an individual’s contribution to the functioning of the chapter. The award is presented to a member is an active participant in Chapter activities, supports Delta Upsilon’s endeavors and stimulates Chapter growth.
If you would like to nominate someone for one of these awards, simply submit a 1 page written nomination to one of the Board of Directors.
The Francine Brem Excellence Award in Pediatric Research and Practice was initiated in memory of the late Francine Brem, PhD, RN to honor an undergraduate or graduate student who is a member or inductee of Delta Upsilon Chapter at-Large. The Award is presented to a student who demonstrates a passion for pediatric nursing and exhibits exceptional performance and potential in this specialty area as evidenced by commitment to and activities in parent-child health nursing. Faculty members will submit letters of nomination to the Awards Committee for students meeting the above criteria by November 15. Students will then be notified of their nomination and asked to submit a personal statement by November 30. The Award will be announced at the Annual Induction Ceremony and an Honorarium provided for the student’s professional development in Parent-Child Nursing.
The Sigma Theta Tau-Delta Upsilon Chapter at-Large Undergraduate Scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate student who is:
a member or inductee of Delta Upsilon;
enrolled full time at the time of application in the Rhode Island College School of Nursing, Salve Regina University Department of Nursing, or the University of Rhode Island College of Nursing;
submits the following by the deadline of November 30:
the completed Undergraduate Scholarship Application for Students in a Baccalaureate Program;
two letters of reference from faculty members, one of whom must be a Delta Upsilon member;
an official undergraduate transcript with a GPA of 3.0 or greater for Seniors and 3.2 or greater for Juniors.
The Sigma Theta Tau-Delta Upsilon Chapter at-Large Graduate Scholarship is awarded to a graduate student who is:
is a member or inductee of Delta Upsilon;
has completed one year of full time graduate study in nursing (or equivalent credits);
submits the following by the deadline of November 30:
the completed Graduate Scholarship Application for Students in a Baccalaureate Program;
two letters of reference from faculty members, one of whom must be a Delta Upsilon member;
an official graduate transcript with a GPA of 3.5 or greater; and a current resume/CV.
